The motorway to reach Carrara is the A12 (Genoa-Livorno). The Carrara exit is few kilometres away from the town centre. Carrara is one hour away from Florence and 30 minutes away from Pisa by car. It takes about 2 hours to reach Milan and about 4 hours to reach Rome.
The train station closer to the centre is the Carrara-Avenza one (about 4 km away) which is connected to the Carrara centre by the public means of transport (Line 70) or by taxy. The Massa Centro station is about 10 km away from Palazzo Cucchiari.
The airport closer to Carrara is the G. Galilei in Pisa (about 50 km away). From the airport, it is possible to reach Pisa Centrale train station in which there are frequent trains to Carrara-Avenza and Massa Centro. The Florence Peretola airport and the Genoa (Cristoforo Colombo) one are about 100 km away.
The international hubs of Rome (Fiumicino) and Milan (Malpensa) offer easy connection flights to the closer airports.
